Dr. Kayla Timmons

Dr. Kayla Timmons was born and raised in central Wisconsin where she spent the majority of her summers outside tending to the animals on her family’s hobby farm.

Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Timmons earned her Bachelor of Science degree in animal science and biology at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. While attending undergrad, she worked at 3M as a technical analyst in research and development of adhesives. Upon completion of her education at River Falls, Dr. Timmons packed her small zoo and headed to the University of Wisconsin-School of Veterinary Medicine where she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. While attending Veterinary Medical School, Dr. Timmons worked at the Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory as a microbiology assistant and at the School of Veterinary Medicine as a surgical technician.

After Veterinary Medical School, Dr. Timmons spent the beginning of her career as an urgent care clinician at a mixed ER and general practice hospital. She is thrilled to join Frontier Veterinary Urgent Care where she hopes to be able to help grow and mentor the next generation of veterinarians while providing best in class care to her patients.

Her professional interests include surgery and wound management, managing metabolic/endocrine diseases and palliative care. She believes that end of life care is the most important time of an animal’s life.

In her “spare time”, Dr. Timmons enjoys spending time with her family. She is passionate about homesteading and caring for her zoo (cattle, chickens, ducks, rabbit, dog, children, husband, etc.).
