Dr. Kayla Marquart
DVM
Dr. Kayla Marquart is originally from Green Bay, WI and earned both her Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, making her a devoted Wisconsin sports fan.
Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Marquart completed separate internships in both zoo and wildlife medicine, focusing on animal husbandry and public education for over 120 unique animal species (wolves, squirrels, hawks, songbirds, armadillos, you name it!). She volunteered in low-income communities of Guatemala to perform free spays and neuters, and to provide basic medical care for well-loved dogs and cats. She also has volunteered alongside horses for children’s hippotherapy programs and cows while performing herd health checks and reproductive care.
Dr. Marquart completed a small animal rotating internship following veterinary school and spent two years practicing solely emergency medicine prior to joining the Frontier team as an Urgent Care Clinician. Her professional interests include urgent/emergency care (obviously!), soft tissue surgery and wound care, toxicology, and palliative care.
In her spare time, Dr. Marquart enjoys spending time with her loved ones and her ‘adorable’ (read: naughty) pitbull mix, Mela.
